This Native American Heritage Month, Support a Native Brand
November 11, 2020November is Native American Heritage Month — Support Tanka Bar, a Native Brand
Niman Ranch is excited to recognize and celebrate Native American Heritage Month this November. We are committed to learning about and supporting indigenous communities and to helping make Native American Heritage Month a time to reflect, as well as act. One way we do this is through our proud partnership with Native American Natural Foods, maker of the Tanka Bar, the original meat snack bar. The Tanka Bar recipe is based on a traditional food of the Lakota and the company is owned and led by Native Americans. We believe in Tanka’s mission to restore the buffalo population on Native lands and help build regenerative economic opportunities on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Niman Ranch and Tanka are both mission-driven meat brands that are working to improve the conditions of the land, the animals, and the people who raise them. Our partnership with Tanka is unique. Not a merger or acquisition, we provide operations, supply chain, and technical support for Tanka. Our goal is to help Tanka create a resilient company to be passed down for generations.
THE TANKA FUND: RESTORE THE BUFFALO TO 1 MILLION ACRES
The Tanka Fund, Tanka Bar’s nonprofit sister organization, is holding a series of events throughout November with the goal of raising $50,000 to support the return of buffalo on one million acres of reservation land. The mission of The Tanka Fund is to bring renewed health and opportunity to Indian Country. By returning the buffalo to the Plains, The Tanka Fund is helping to build a healthy economy and ecosystem. This moment is truly a new beginning for Tanka Bar and we hope you will join us in committing to make a difference this Native American Heritage Month.
