Lamb and Lentil Mediterranean Meatballs

6 tbsp green French lentils
1 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup diced onion
1 tsp diced garlic
2 tbsp yellow raisins
1 1/2 cups vegetable broth
1 pound ground lamb
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 tbsp Greek Freak Mediterranean Spiceology blend
1/2 tbsp salt
1/4 tbsp pepper
1 egg
Harissa Aioli
1 cup Mayo
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp harissa paste
1 tbsp lime juice
Cooking Instructions
- In a medium pot heat the oil
- Add the onions, garlic, yellow raisins, salt, pepper and Spiceology spice blend.
- Sauté until onions are translucent
- Add the lentils and stock and simmer until lentils are tender
- Strain and put on sheet tray to cool
- Preheat oven to 400
- In a bowl mix ground lamb, egg and cilantro
- Add the lentil mix and mix well together with hands
- Form into 24 meatballs
- Place on baking sheet with sides
- Bake in oven 10-12 minutes until done
- While baking mix all ingredients to make the harissa aioli
- Serve meatballs and aioli on a platter
- Garnish with lemon slices and additional cilantro
- Serve with pita, hummus, sliced radish, herbs and greens
