New York Strip with Yakiniku Sauce

Recipe by: Chef Art Gonzalez, Owner and Executive Chef of Panxa Cocina and Tribe at Riverwalk

Ingredients

2-12oz Niman Ranch New York Strips sliced about 1/4” thick

1 cup soy sauce1 tablespoon grated ginger
5 garlic cloves grated
2 tablespoon toasted sesame
2 tablespoon minced green apple
2 tablespoon finely chopped green onion
2 tablespoon mirin
1 teaspoon brown sugar

Cooking Instructions

  1. Combine sauce ingredients and simmer on low for 5 minutes
  2. Strain and cool
  3. Pat steaks dry and season with salt and pepper
  4. Grill over charcoal or gas to medium rare or preference
  5. Slice rested meat across the grain and garnish with scallions and sesame seed

Dip in sauce/enjoy with sake and friends!
